Elite 3E cloud readiness: assess the operating model, not just the application

A move to 3E in the cloud changes more than hosting. Finance interfaces, reporting, identity, data movement, integrations and operational ownership all need to be understood before a migration plan is credible.

Start with the finance operating model

Document how the current 3E environment supports billing, financial operations, reporting, integrations and month-end activity. A cloud move is easier to plan when the business-critical paths are visible, not just the server inventory.

Map every integration and data dependency

List inbound and outbound interfaces, schedules, ownership, authentication, transformation and failure handling. Include document management, matter/intake, time, e-billing, reporting, data warehouse and any locally developed processes.

Separate standard capability from local customisation

Identify custom objects, reports, templates, interfaces and operational workarounds. Decide what should be retained, redesigned or retired rather than automatically carrying legacy complexity into the target platform.

Plan reconciliation as part of migration

Agree what will be reconciled after rehearsal and production cutover: opening balances, matters, clients, time, billing, users, reference data and key reports. Reconciliation needs named owners and evidence.

Treat business-cycle testing as mandatory

A technically successful migration can still fail operationally if billing, collections or month-end processes behave differently. Test representative business cycles and peak windows, not just login and navigation.
